Riordan Manufacturing locations are found in Georgia, Michigan, and California. Instead of the sites using the same Finance and Accounting System, they have different systems and attempt to submit a consolidated record to corporate headquarters, which is in San Jose.
They have the same fundamental components in their networks, According to University of Phoenix Riordan Manufacturing (2005, 2006, 2012, 2013):
• “General Ledger • Payroll
• Financial Reporting
• EDI, Bar Code Reading, and EDSS (Executive Decision Support System) are only located in Corporate Headquarters San Jose but need to be in Michigan, Georgia and California” All sites need to use the same software and hardware and use the same reporting procedure. Income Statement shows decreased profits after taxes 2011 to 2010 because of increased expenses. The technology must be current for Riordan Manufacturing to remain profitable, and stay abreast of up-to-date improvements in the manufacturing industry. Riordan manufacturing telecommunications and information networks need upgrading to excel in keeping the business current.
