Final Essay proposal “Artificial Intelligence (Robotics) and society” For Alyson King Name: Adrish khan Student # 100373890 Artificial intelligence is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. As far as history is concerned, the research on this technology started in the mid 20s by a bunch of scientists. Modern research on robotics was encouraged by US defence department. The development of modern robots has an impact on the lives of many people. The impact is not just limited to the scientific world, but many other professions are affected by it. Robotics have made human life easier and increased the standard of living by a huge factor. Today, artificial intelligence is being used to help mankind carry out researches in many fields; from the darkness of the deep oceans to the heights of the heavenly planets are being explored with the help of artificial intelligence. While being so useful to men, robots have some negative impacts on the society. Many of the jobs which were previously done by humans are now replaced by robots. This has created a serious problem: many people have lost their jobs because machines can do their work far more effectively and quickly. While the technology proved itself to be of great help to mankind, it has also made a negative impact on the lives of many. People even fear that in future these machines might end up taking human’s place in the society. It has both negative and positive impacts on the world; I will be discussing these impacts in detail in my final essay.
