The main thing in a rocket that most people see is a pointy nose cone and their fins on the bottom, but I highly doubt what they know what’s going inside of it while it is being ignited and propelled into the air. The most important thing in the rocket is the fuel. Without the fuel you wouldn’t really get any where, but when there is fuel in there you have to make sure you have the right quantity you want on how far it goes up in the air. Also in the belly of the rocket is the Guidance system. Sometimes it can vary on what it looks like such as circuit boards, computer chips, sensors, but in simpler terms it can be called the brains of the rocket. It tells the rocket when and where to go fly towards, however it also lets the rocket know when to deploy the parachute to have a safe landing for itself and the things it is surrounded by on impact (exploration.grc.nasa.gov).On impact the first thing that is going to hit is the fins at the bottom of the rocket. Scientists have to be careful on what kind of material the rocket should be made of. It has to be durable and strong but at the same time it has to be lightweight in order to reach the maximum altitude it needs. Usually it can be made of Fiber Glass for smaller type rockets but for space travel it commonly would be aluminum. Aluminum is a perfect metal for space travel; it’s durable yet lightweight at the same time (exploration.grc.nasa.gov). What really determines the whole weight on the rocket is the different types of fuel that can be used to effect how fast the rocket goes up or how fast it can reach Mach. The main types of fuel are liquid and solid. Occasionally liquid fuel is the lightest out of all of them but it takes a lot of engineering to create them. With a liquid fuel you would have to install an oxidizer to regulate the temperature of the liquid. While a solid fuel is the heaviest and takes up the most space.
