Ron Paul, a former politician who served as the US Representive for Texas gave the speech, "What If". Formerly, a doctor and an author, Ron Paul understands the need for protection for all Americans. Ron Paul has been consistent for honest money, freedom of liberty and minding our own business. As he has pointed out, the wrong choices made by our country could result in global warfare. In his own words, " War is not worth lives."
Ron Paul states very clearly that foriegn policy has nothing to do with our national security, but wartime conditions always undermine our personal liberty. Foriegn policy in American eyes seem to become a bigger issue than protecting our homeland. Ron Paul clarifies that the government does not reflect the people. Government change has brought more harm than benefits to human rights. The American human rights, as he puts it are no longer of interest. Ron shows deep concern over the fact that the government is losing billions every day to accomplish nothing, but the request for an empire that eventually will destroy all great nations.
Going to war, as he believes is based on lies in order to serve special interest. So, what is the cost of all this? It is our loved ones, and our own personal safety jepordized. Over 5000 soldiers have died, and as Ron Paul puts it, " It's not a fare trade offer." His statement is heart felt, as many listen and can connect because so many people have lost a loved one, or know someone who has died. As Ron puts it," To occupy another country for special interest is directing hatred toward us." He says, terriosts threaten us because our government meddels in their business. War and military spending is destructive to our economy.
