Guys vs. Men
There has always been a battle between the sexes. In today’s society there is a lot of controversy with females doing a man’s job or a man doing a women’s job. Quite a bit of people seem to think men and women have a certain place like way back when, times have changed a lot since then.
In this text Dave emphasizes the difference between males and females in more of a humorous way but others take in and get offended by what he is saying. He is making fun of women for being more concerned about the little things, “she’ll be sound asleep in bed, and suddenly, at 2 A.M., she’ll be awakened by the urgent thought: The blue-green sofa needs to go perpendicular to the wall instead of parallel, and it needs to go there RIGHT NOW. So she’ll get up and move it.” (P.905) Men are the same way to an extent with things they are interested in or things they care about. Men are more nonchalant about things women would be worried or concerned about.
Men are just like women in a sense because when it comes to sports or video games, they make sure they play the way they need to and they do what they need to do to win. Just like women they will do whatever they are doing to their expectations and to the best of their ability. What makes women different from men is women are more mature about certain things than men are. I guess you really can’t compare men to women because a there isn’t female in guy and there isn’t male in a female. They are different creatures their emotions are different, they think differently, and they act different.
