Speech Debrief - Astrology Sign
After having my first ever speech in college, I feel exited and eager to have my next
speech to be even better. During the process of creating my speech, I got very surprised
about how interesting it is to learn about your own astrology sign and how much of the
information actually applies to yourself. Reading about the “Leo”-sign really opened up my
mind about things that I do in my everyday life without even thinking about it. I also got
surprised about how many ways there are to approach a speech. I appreciate the freedom you
get combined with using your creative side, it makes it way more interesting and opens up
your mind in a different way than writing an essay.
I was actually kind of nervous before the speech, but during the speech I actually had
fun. One thing I wish to keep doing in my next speech is to keep an humours tone to the
speech. Making people laugh is a great way to have them interested throughout the whole
speech. Listening to someone that jokes and keeps an humorous tone to the speech will make
it satisfying for the crowd, but also for the speaker that gets credit for being funny by hearing
laughs, which also lets the speaker be more confident. I think I organised my speech well,
making it flow with good transitions for the audience to understand when I turned my speech
in a different direction. When I wrote my speech, I was thinking it would be interesting if I
could speak about how the astrology sign “Leo” resembled me. This speech was supposed to
be an informational speech, but I felt that I wanted to put a personal touch to it, which I

thought would be successful because the audience received some funny facts and information
that emphasised who I am as a person.
