charachteristics- the m-249 saw is a shoulder fired gas driven light machine gun that fires .556 amunition capable of launching rounds at 2970 fps. with a max effective range of 3600 meters but can efectively engage a point target at 800 meters on a tripod and 600 meters on a bipod. able to pin down an area at 1000 meters on a tripod and 800 meters on a bipod. with A weight of 16.41lbs it is able to lay down as much as 850 RPS. to 650 RPS. going full cyclic. running rapid fire will put down 200 rounds of lead down range. and basic sustained bursts will put you 100 RPS. while firing at these rates the barrel will need tobe swaped cause of the heat at cyclic fire it will need to be changed every minute at rapid every 2 mins at sustaine every ten theres a reason this weapon is the most casualty producing weapon in the fire team.
loading procedures-(show on saw) Loading the saw is a simple process open the feed tray cover slip the linked ammo on top of the feed tray. close feed tray assembly. pull the charging handle all the way back ride it forward. to fire all you have to do is switch the saftey to fire and pull the trigger and lay down some scunioun. also can be mag fed through the mag port on the right side of the weapon.
unload procedure-(show on saw) make sure the saw is on safe open up the feed tray assembly cover. slide links off the feed tray check the feeder claws for any loose links pull the charging handle back to observe the star chamber for a round there put your fingers ini the mag well for any loose links or rounds. then ride the charging handle forward. make sure weapon is on safe afterwards
