Say “No”

It is very clear why we should not allow outsourcing; simply it takes jobs away from the American people. We hear and see it every day in the news; also many people have experienced it in their life. There is no way that anyone can convince me that outsourcing benefits the American people. I know many people whom worked in the manufacturing business and lost their jobs to outsourcing. For example, my bother-in-law worked for Chevy for many years here in Muncie. We know what happened to that; they closed down because of shipping jobs overseas because of the cheap labor that is available. He was forced to make some major decisions; the company offered him jobs in other factories all over the United States. He was forced to move within 30 days of the job being offered. How is that fair, he had to leave his home and move somewhere that he knew nothing about and had never been to. So he uproots his family, tries to sell his home in that short of period but doesn’t and moves to Texas. Once down there he rents a home while still paying for the one here in Indiana, then to his surprise he gets laid off three months later. He was guaranteed unemployment for a little while but that wasn’t enough to pay his mortgage and rent and try to get moved back home. The sad thing is that the company paid to move him down there but did nothing to get him and his family back home. This is the outcome of many people that works for a company that decides to outsource their business. The American people are left stuck between a rock and hard spot. Outsourcing has hit home for me many times in the last three or four years, my sister just lost her home a couple of years ago because her husband’s company decided to outsource the company to Mexico. Their life was comfortable one minute and a disaster the next, they couldn’t afford to buy groceries, pay their mortgage or any bills.
