1.1 Problems and issues pollution is causing to our environment and our planet.

When people talk about pollution, the first thing that pop into our minds is air pollution. Air pollution is basically the contamination of many gases in the air. The first issue it really causes is global warming; Global warming is basically the increase in the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. However, the effects of global warming are quite disastrous, as they are actually melting the polar ice caps, therefore destroying the homes of the animals that live in the Arctic. Global warming is basically caused by something called the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is basically caused by the emission of “”Greenhouse gases”, such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, ozone and methane, and these greenhouse gases absorb the heat caused by infrared radiation (Rays from the sun) , and therefore slowing its progress of escaping into the atmosphere. However, according to scientists, human beings would not be able to survive on Earth without the greenhouse effects, as without it, “the average temperature on earth would be colder by approximately 30 degrees, (50 degrees Fahrenheit), and it would be far too cold to sustain the current ecosystem.” This would therefore cause a change to our global climate.

On a side note, the greenhouse gases are also causing the ozone layer to thin. The ozone layer is very important to our planet as it protect it from the harmful ultraviolet rays that the sun emits. If the ozone layer completely thins out, there would be a certainty that almost everyone on earth would probably suffer from radiation poisoning, and get skin cancer.

Another main issue with air pollution is acid rain. Acid rain is basically formed when chemicals such as nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide, methane, carbon monoxide and sulfur oxide are released into the environment or when the process of burning fossil fuel...
