Growing up I was never a kid that was recognized for his social skills. So quiet was I as a child in elementary school, with little or no classmates that I could call my friends. When riding in the car listening to the radio, I would ask my mother to turn it off because not even music pleased my ears. My family is the kind of family that enjoys scary movies, the “Sci-fi” channel, and playing videogames. When I was just a year old I picked up an N.E.S. (Nintendo Entertainment System) controller and began to play a few games with my grandmother. My mother had her own “console” (a gamer term for videogame system) called the “Sega Genesis” and as I got older I began to play that, I remember my favorite game was “Sonic the Hedgehog 2”. When I turned eight years old my father used his money to try to buy my heart, and purchased a Nintendo 64.
I was so full of joy on that day, the console came with a racing game called “Mario Kart 64”, and I beat it within a few weeks. I had to move onto different games, more challenging games, and then I came upon the greatest beginning to a trilogy of videogames that will ever exist. I remember the day that I was in Wal-mart and in need of a new game, I didn’t know which game to choose so at random I swung my arm around and pointed in the direction of a game called “Banjo-Kazooie”. I had never heard of the game before that day and when I got home I opened the package, put in the game cartridge and turned on my N64 (Nintendo 64) and immediately fell in love with the game. Banjo-Kazooie had humor, a “damsel in distress” plot, the type of challenge I had been looking for, and the game was just perfection. The damsel in distress plot drew me in even more because an evil witch named “Gruntilda” kidnaps your sister “Tootie” and plans to steal Tootie’s beauty to make herself more attractive, I was always very protective of my sister and I felt like I was the main character because my main priority was to keep my sister out of...
