2a. Evaluate Three Strengths of Your Leadership Practice Using a Scholarly
Leadership Theory.
This paper will review the results of my Self –Scoring Seven Habits Profile. After
completing this profile, I have additional information about how my leadership skills are and
what categories need improvement. I am using the Transformational Leadership theory to
compare my results to and also provide changes that are needed to become a better leader within
this theory. The Transformational Leadership theory includes criteria of behaviors that influence
the other’s perceptions of the leadership, motivates others through inspiration, creates stimulus
for intellectual thinking, being aware of others specific circumstances, and building a
relationship that helps promote and achieve collaborative success. (Hargis, Watt, & Piotrowski,
2011, p. 54).
First, it must be noted that there are many areas of improvement that are necessary and
are shown by the Seven Habits Profile. I was pretty sure what those areas would be but the
profile provided more insight into what those areas were and is a worthwhile task to complete.
In evaluation, the results also show that I am skilled as well.
The most evident strength I have would be shown in category 7. This category, Seek
First to Understand, is a habit included in the Interdependence listing. Stephen Covey states
“Interdependence is the paradigm of we – we can do it: we can cooperate, we can combine our
talents and abilities and create something greater together. (Covey, 1989, p. 23) In comparing

interdependence with the Transformational Leadership theory it should be noted that building a
relationship with the follower is an essential piece of the leadership theory. I have always prided
