Many students end up dropping out of high school because they fail one too many classes and feel socially at out of place. I feel as though schools should not give F’s to secondary students.
Teachers should not give students failing grades because paper and pencil test do not always show how much someone knows. Some people become extremely nervous when taking a test which causes them to fail test and sometimes even fail the class. Some students learn better by hands on training, so making it through high school and then going to a technical college is more beneficial for them. Therefore, these students should slide through high school because otherwise they will drop out and the world would be without some of the best mechanics.
Some students also have teachers who they cannot learn the best through, but when given opportunity and motivation by the right teacher they can learn any given material. Some students also come from a home where they have not been given the same opportunities as everyone else so they are always trying to catch up and eventually give up because there is no one to motivate them to keep trying, that they will eventually understand and can go on to do bigger and better things. Students should find that one teacher that will take the time to motivate them and then use them to help achieve success.
Failing grades can also affect student emotionally and socially. Emotionally students tend to feel down and misplaced when receiving one failing grade and feel like they cannot do any better. Socially students are more matured then there now classmates who are all at least a year younger than them and when graduation comes along and a student sees all her friends graduate she feels left behind and ends up dropping out of school which does not help her, the school, or society.
