Six Sigma and Quality Management-Term Paper Policies
The term paper in this course is about carefully reading an already published article of Six Sigma and Quality Management in a reputable professional journal or conference proceedings and delivering an oral presentation and a short report about it.
Groups- you have a choice of teaming up with 2 or 3 other students (total group size of 3 or 4; I strongly prefer 4). None of your teammates for the Term Paper may be any of your teammates for the Course Project. Also, all teammates must be registered in the same section.
Papers- two options:
1. You either have to select one of the UNASSIGNED papers I have selected and posted on BB/Course Document /Term Paper already; or
2. Find a published article of your own and email it to me for my approval. The article should be about 10 pages or more and relevant to course.
No two teams across all sections may work on the same paper, meaning once a paper is assigned to a team in one of the sections, the paper is marked “ASSIGNED” and will not be assigned to any other team in any section.
You should send me an email no later than Friday Sep 18 by 12:00 noon to let me know your teammates and your paper. The subject line of your email should be “Six Sigma Term Paper” exactly and you must copy all your suggested teammates on your email. If I do not hear from you by the deadline, I ll create/find a team for you and assign one of the available papers to you. If you search and find your own paper, I may or may not accept it. If I reject your suggested paper, you are given a second chance to search for another paper or pick an unassigned paper on BB.
The papers on BB will be assigned first come-first served. Once I receive a proper team and a paper choice, I ll assign that paper immediately, will mark the paper as “ASSIGNED” on BB and will update an Excel file of current teams so that you know who the students without a team are.
