This paper will review the organizational structure of Strategy Financial Group along with the effects the organizational structure has on the success of the business. In addition, the management leadership strategies will be compared and contrasted, and the organizational behavior theories will be identified.
Organizational Structure
Strategy Financial Group’s follows a matrix organizational structure in which the knowledge and skills of the talented employees is shared between the functional departments and the project management teams as needed. Strategy Financial Group is structured in a manner where three individual businesses are conducted as one as each insurance agent conducts their personal business in their own manner but operate under one name. Strategy Financial Group is made up of three partners, three relationship managers, a marketing director and assistant, and a part time accountant. Authority flows both vertically downwards from the functional manager –whom is one partner who takes on more of the operational management responsibilities and sideways from the authority of the project manager – which is each partner/insurance agent and how they direct their individual business to be conducted. Relationship managers report directly to the partner/insurance agent in which they assist but take directives from both the functional and project manager. Strategy Financial Group operates under a strong matrix in which most authority and power lies within the project manager (each partner has direct authority over their relationship manager and equal authority over marketing and accounting). The three partners have direct control over the budget of the company and administrative staff.
