Offering a wide range of products such as home appliances, lighting, power systems, and many other commercial products, GE has all of the resources and experience to make any new product a success. GE’s CEO, Jeff Immelt has been with the company since 1989. Mr. Immelt has led GE in the right direction and receiving a three-time recognition as one of the “World’s Best CEOs” by Barrons ("Ge.com 2013). The company finds itself in a favorable position because of their research and development efforts. GE continues to engage in production of consumer and commercial goods to facilitate and enrich the lives of everyone. “GE works on things that matter. The best people and the best technologies taking on the toughest challenges. Finding solutions in energy, health and home, transportation and finance. Building, powering, moving and curing the world. Not just imagining” ("Ge Imagination At Work", 2013).
Through extensive research, technology, safety, and product knowledge, GE would like to introduce the Smart Helmet. The concept of the smart helmet is to provide motorcyclists with today’s technology, while encompassing the highest level of safety. As it currently stands, the market has a gap for such product. Small add-on gadgets are available to provide some of the conveniences that the smart helmet offers, but none replicate the total number of features in one practical design. A challenge for market attraction will be consumer buy in. GE has formulated a method to assist in gaining consumer interest. Through the usual marketing efforts via television, Internet, and print media, GE will implement mini product launches in specific domestic and international markets.
