Sneezing is a natural function of the body. This usually occurs dirt and debris gets caught in your nasal cavities. Part of what your nose does is clean the air you breathe through it. This means that dirt and bacteria are usually trapped in mucus and digested. However, these bacteria can enter and irritate the sensitive mucous membranes inside your nose, causing you to sneeze.
Allergies play a big part in people sneezing. Usually, your immune system protects you from harmful bacteria. But, if you have allergies, these typically harmless bacteria are identified as threats to your immune system. A person may sneeze as their immune system tries to get rid of these “harmful” bacteria.
If you have a common cold, usually you get a cough, stuffed nose, and sneezes! Sneezes caused from a common cold are because your whole body is under attack of infection. The stuffed nose is consistently bugging your sensitive mucous membranes in side of your nose, causing you to sneeze more than you usually would.
