The Role of Communication Technology
Communication technology is important to me because, the things that I start doing from morning to night include technology. It’s been helpful having the technology from the basic things that I use. It is almost impossible in this modern age for one to get by without technology. Over the last 20 years, changes in technology have made a profound difference in the way people communicate. Earlier, the only way for people to communicate with each other was meeting face to face or writing letters. However, now I can call or text my friends who live far or work in different places. I use technology in my daily life to stay connected with friends, to research college work and also to accomplish my everyday task.
Due to the recent improvements in technology, people living everywhere are always stuck to their smartphones tweeting or updating information. Personally I am constantly checking what my friends are up to on Facebook, Instagram. Researching on topics for my college assignments require technology that I use frequently. I am really happy with the advance of the new technologies such as email, mobile phones, television, internet, social media helping me connect with my family and friends. If I take a look at the technology I interact with on a daily basis, I notice that their role in my life is extremely significant. My day is spent bound between media devices. This keeps me inside a comfortable, safe environment.
Keeping up with friends is an example of how I use technology daily. I check my Facebook and Instagram accounts often to see what my friends are up to. The status that I get about my friend keeps me updated about my friend’s life and also the things I post lets my friends to stay updated in my life. Even if I am not a close friend to some people, I am still able to see what is happening with them. Although, I often use skype to chat with my sister and relatives who live back in India.
