Facebook and twitter are very popular social networks. Teenagers and adults are both a fan of the two social networks. The age range for those social networks varies. Every day there are millions of people on social networks. Facebook and twitter have been around since the 2000’s. Facebook and twitter are very similar and they work hand in hand. These social networks allow you to post pictures, interact with friends and celebrities.
Firstly, facebook was created in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. Twitter was created in March 2006 by Evan Williams. Furthermore, when facebook was first created it had over a million users. As the website began to gain popularity it started to reach more than 1 billion users. Twitter also had millions of users sign up when they first launched. Twitter has over 100 million active followers. These social networks are very popular and used by users all over the world. My best friend lives in London her birthday was a couple weeks ago. I was unable to attend the event but I felt like I was there. She sent me pictures of the event and her birthday cake. Even though I was not there physically I felt like I did not miss a thing. My friend was tweeting how her birthday party went on twitter. I had to check her twitter and her facebook to keep myself updated about the event.
Secondly, Most of my close friends are either out of state or out of the country. Facebook and twitter helps me to interact with them on a daily basis. On twitter I get updates of their daily activities. Also, on facebook I can look at their pictures and videos. Some of my friends have their facebook and their linked together. Sometimes, if am on twitter looking at my friends tweets I would see a link directing me to their facebook page. The link directs me to see a video or picture they posted on facebook.
