The speaker claims that socialization of children today determines the destiny of society.Admittedly, children, as the cornerstone of future society, determine the ultimate destiny of society. However socialization is not the only factor. The speaker also claims that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. Although we still have problems in raising our new generation, in my view we have achieved this aim to some extent.

Admittedly, socialization of children today is a very important factor for them to success, especially in the 21th century when the world becomes a global village with the help of fast developing of science and technology. Children are the hope of society who will become politians, scientists, bussinessmen, lawyers and the like. As politians in the 21th century, they should have the ability to cooperate with other political leaders from domestic and abroad. As scientists, they should be able to communicate with experts of different fields and universities efficiently and effectively. And As bussinessmen, they must be capable to deal with people from all over the world in order to be a successful commercial leader. If childern were not socialized well today, they will encounter a lot of problems in cooperating and communicating with others and hence will hardly be able to fulfill their role of host of future society.

On the other hand, socialization is not the only crucial factor that determine the future of children and the destiny of society. There are other qualities, like honesty, persistance, values of democracy and so on, that play a key rule in the performance of children to create a better future. Without such qualities, we can definitly say, children will not bring about a better society despite how they are socialized. Can you image where an unhonesty political leader will lead society to? or can you image what kind of new discovery can a capricious scientist finally get? Therefor...
