In response to week three’s social cultural issues each team member had a different response. take on some issues and trends in global sociocultural issues and why a company must be sensitive to the sociocultural environment within the host country is demographics. He states that demographics have changed globally. In the upcoming years there will be more retiring in China then coming into the workforce. In doing so, the market will turn like that of today’s world where the employer has the edge but as the future comes and jobs open back up the bargaining power will return back to the employee. states that as people migrate to other countries they may find their selves coming back to their home country for better paying jobs. Women in the workforce might also see a bump in the business world as more companies are advertising towards the opposite sex.
focuses more on the issue of regarding global and sociocultural being the mandate for more human rights and liberties in some countries overseas. Their protests and anxieties for liberty have been reinforced by the west. Freedom of Speech and Human Rights are taken for granted in the west, but recent years have seen conditions deteriorate around the world (Shah, 2010). states that these circumstances are unchanged similar to earlier years, in various countries overseas, which have actually deteriorated, around the world. For example, the UN reported that even though over a hundred governments had agreed to help outlaw some of the worse violations of rights, torture was still on the increase (Shah, 2010). There are various instances of countries, businesses and other establishments violating human rights. Socialist nations, and other unindustrialized countries, are trying for more social and monetary privileges.
