Explanation of how sociology provides a way of understanding the problems of your community
The way a sociologist would look for an explanation is look beyond the point for why something happened to this person. By allowing us to step outside the frame of being a participant and being an observer. I think that sociology gives examples of what goes on based on various cultures throughout the world.
Explanation of the groups in your community and how they differ
We differ by our culture. Some of our values and beliefs aren’t the same. The things that we appreciate might not be the same as everybody else.
Description of the social structure in your community and its significance
We are an urbanized community and we have modern buildings and slightly heavily populated so people will most likely move here to establish a business.
Description of the social institutions in your community and how they meet social needs
Most people are blue collar workers and they go to church and we live in a community that uses technology. Most of us at least have a high school education. Our economy is okay.
Examples of the values and norms in your community
We have to go to school. Many of us go to church. We wear light clothing because we are a tropical community. We go home when the street lights are on.
Analysis of how people acquire their beliefs in your community
I think we acquire our beliefs by nurture because when you are raised around certain people they influence you to do that or you would think that’s the way to go because you really wouldn’t know better. If you move somewhere you’re most likely going to have to adapt.
Description of a social problem in your community
A social problem in our community is littering. I see so much litter in my community you can ball it up and make it into its own planet. I think it is one of the biggest problems in my community and people don’t see it.
