The Sun’s energy and the Earth’s motion make life on Earth possible. This is because all organisms need solar energy to survive. [Solar energy and the Earth’s movements influence life on Earth][because living organisms develop lifestyles based upon the amount of solar energy they receive, and the Earth’s movements allow the solar energy to reach all parts of the Earth.]
Solar energy is defined as the energy from the sun. Without solar energy there would be no light, no warmth, and no life. People need the warmth and the energy to grow crops and plants which are also used for things such as clothes, furniture, food, etc. Also, if there was no solar energy, it would never rain, this is because the water cycle needs the heat from the sun to evaporate the water on the Earth, the evaporated water turns into water vapor in the air, cools, and form clouds. As the clouds get heavier, eventually it rains. If there wasn’t any sun, no part of the water cycle would be possible. Without rain or heat people could not use plants for making clothes or food because they would die, and then humans would to because they would starve and freeze. Also plants keep the amounts of carbon dioxide and oxygen even. Humans and plants rely on each other to live. Plants rely on solar energy to live. Therefore humans rely on solar energy.
The Earth’s movements include rotation and revolution. Rotation is the Earth’s spin on its axis. Revolution is the Earth’s movement around the sun. The Earth also tilts 23 ½ degrees on its axis. The Earth’s rotation causes day and night. Because of rotation, amounts of solar energy on Earth are constantly changing. If the Earth did not rotate, one part of the Earth would always be light, one part would always be dark, and many parts would be in between. This would be a problem for human life and animal life alike, because the nocturnal animals would have to adapt to the problem and learn to hunt in the light. The Earth’s movement...
