Current Events
Current events are present-time news events concerning important people, places, things, and ideas; also called current affairs. Everything going in the world is considered a current event; from media news to global news. There are many sources to find information and updates on current events. Some of which is television, radio, internet, and newspapers.
Current Event Sources
Television is one of the most valuable sources to find out current events. There are news channels, TV shows, and even movies that can give someone information on what is currently going on in the world. Some news channels include: Fox 5 news, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, etc. TV shows and movies can also be a valuable source because it acts out what is going on or what may possibly be going on in the future (e.g. The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, war movies, etc.).
Radio and internet is also another source of current events. FM radio is more music and AM radio is more of news. Mainly mainstream AM radio stations are a good source. AM radio stations that would be a good source for current event news is KFI AM 640, KDWN 720 AM, KFLG 1000 AM, etc. the internet is possibly one of the most “used” sources for current events; because mostly everyone uses the internet, and because it is quick and easy access. Internet sites that are used are usually the sites of television news channels such as: www.fox5news.com, www.cnn.com, www.msnbc.com, www.wn.com, etc.
Newspapers are also another source for current events. Newspapers are updated and sent out daily with world news. They are not as popular as the internet and television because most people find that reading the newspaper takes too much time, when they can find the information on the internet or find the information when turning on their television. There are many types of newspapers that give out information on current events. Some of which are: New York Times, Review Journal, Times, Las Vegas Sun, Central Newspapers, Hearst...
