Today I’ll be giving you a speech about pugs, but with a twist. It’s called “reasons why pugs make horrible pets”. One thing that you probably didn’t know about pugs is that a group of pugs is called a grumble. Anyways, everybody in college can get in a lot of stress, especially if you can’t have a pet in your dorm because of rules and whatever. So I’m here to give you 3 reasons why pugs make horrible pets, if you decide to get one. There’s this one time when I went to a friend’s house to meet a cute little pug, [pause] and OHHH MANN they’re the WORST! So based on my research and personal experience, So here they are, three reasons why pugs make horrible pets: they sleep too muchhhh, they can’t swimmmm, and they’re always needy and touchy-feely all the time. But first, let’s talk about how much hours can a pug sleep.
Well, that depends. According to a pug dog information center website, an article titled “Pugs Sleeping Habits” says that newborn pugs can sleep up to 22 hours a day, puppies sleep around 18 to 20 hours a day, and Adults sleep roughly 14 hours a day. “Say, that’s alot of hours,” you might think. But pugs tend to take naps, [lower head and smile] as well as we all do, but they do it more than we do because they don’t have collge classes to go to. So now that we’ve talked about how pugs sleep too much, now we’re going to talk about how they’re usually not good swimmers.
You see, according to the same website that I’ve mentioned earlier, teaching a pug how to swim is like [pause] teaching it to a baby; it takes a lot of harddd work. Let’s see, the water needs to be extra clean, the water temperature has to be around 60 degrees, and there should be no competitions present. One of my friend’s pug took about 3 months just to only be in one of those blow up kiddie pools where the water only goes up to his chest. My friend thought it’d be funnier if he bought floaties and pink goggles for the pug, mentioning that his pug’s not only stylish but...
