Sports and Cheerleading

A significant experience and achievement that had a major impact on my life is sports. I have been playing sports since I was a little girl. The sport that had the biggest impact on my life is cheerleading. Cheerleading has taught me life long lessons in how to work as a team, to be friendly and social, and to always be a good sport no matter what. All of the lessons that cheerleading has taught me, I will carry on through the rest of my years.
Cheerleading was a sport I had done since I was about 4 years old. I was always on a team with older girls than me because of my skill level. I was able to listen to corrections my coach or my mom gave to me without complaining or crying about it. I was more on top of tasks that I had to do instead of pushing them off until the last minute. I wanted to succeed in life, so I listened to ideas that would help improve me as a person.
Cheerleading has also made me the outgoing, social person that I am today. I participate a lot more in school classes and in after school activities. I am not afraid to say my answer aloud in class and worrying about what others would say about me. I also play lacrosse and occasionally football after school knowing that it is just for fun. It does not have to be a competition on who is better; just playing with friends makes it worth while. Cheerleading has also allowed me to introduce myself to new friends without having to be shy or nervous around them. I used to not want to go up to a person and say hi because I would get afraid that they would not want to talk to me. Now, I can go right up to them and introduce my self with no problem.
Cheerleading has also taught me that you can never have to much help in life. The meaning of teamwork is the cooperative and coordinated effort on a group of people...
