Sportsmanship:
The background information to the picture is that in a Serie A Game between Lazio and Napoli. Klose scored from a with his hand as the ball was crossed in from a corner, neither the Referee or any officials saw the handball so the goal was allowed, however as the Napoli players started to argue with the Referee, Klose admitted to handballing the ball and asked the Referee to disallow the Goal. This is good sportsmanship as it was honest to the rules and allowed the game to continue without Napoli having to try and level the game again from an unfair advantage.

Kirani James and Oscar Pistorius drew each other in the Olympic 400m Semi-Finals and when Kirani James stormed through to the Finals as Pistorius finished last although he still shook hands with the winner and swapped numbers with the winner, in the final James stormed through to take the win and immediately after instead of going on his victory lap he stayed and shook everybody’s hand that crossed the finish line. This is good sportsmanship because it shows respect to the other competitors and it also gives a good image of a role model to younger people.
Gamesmanship:
The Spanish Paralympic Basketball Team won the gold medal but then it because apparent that the team hadn’t took the tests to prove that they we’re eligible to play in the Mental Deficiency class, it was discovered by an undercover Spanish reporter, in fact 10 of the 12 players were perfectly normal. This is gamesmanship because it does abide by the rules set by the governing body and it is unfair to the other competitors in that class.
The background information is that Rob Sloan crossed the line of the Kielder Marathon in 3rd position put suspicions where raised when the runner who actually finished 3rd couldn’t remember the Sunderland Harrier runner overtaking him, there was also witness’s to suggest that he had caught a bus to near the finish and then ran the last couple of miles of the race.
