From what I gathered from this video is that the big major differences in qualitative and quantitative research is the when you got qualitative research, then people must have conductive reasoning and the investigator gathers data through interviews, observations, content analysis, etc.
As for quantitative theories go, the researcher should be dispassionate, objective, and neutral, so that tells me that the Researcher uses tools, such as questionnaires or equipment to collect numerical data. The researcher carefully designs all aspects of the study before actually collecting the data.

Quantitative data can be categorized as continuous or discrete. So take an exam for instance if you have twenty answers on a test then the only number of answers that can be right is twenty. If you have pets for instance, you have three fish then you can’t say you have 1.5 pets. The data is continuous and that it’s possible that the values fall in a continuum and is usually a physical measure. So for example age and height is continuous data. It definitely has limitations though it cannot predict if someone will get a disease and who will not. Usually it cannot fix a problem or identify that there is one. By itself it’s insufficient to make a decision.
Qualitative data continues where quantitative data leaves off. It’s the data that describes, explains, and characterizes the subject of investigation using words rather than numbers. It generates the texture or feel of numerical data. There are several ways to collect qualitative data. Focus groups are commonly used for qualitative data collection. Other forms of data collection could be interviews of key informants, newspapers, direct observation, evaluating archive material, or...
