Statement of Purpose for Cambridge Delta

Officially I have been teaching English only for 6 years, but since my first years at university I have had an extensive private teaching practice and worked in various camps. When I decided to pursue the teaching career in earnest, I knew that I wanted to focus on Business English and work with university students, since it requires fair knowledge of specific vocabulary, good theoretical underpinning as well as the ability to teach the hard and softskills essential for future professionals. In the past 6 years I have successfully taught such courses as English for Economists, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Management, the Language of International Trade as well as workshops on presentations, job search andcase based learning. Also, I have designed coursebooks on Trade Contracts, Introduction to Logistics, Marketing, etc. Besides teaching at the university I work as a private tutor coaching for university entrance exams as well as IELTS, BEC, etc. My best emotional reward is when I see my students’ achievements, their victories in contests as well as best exams results. I also take pride in my two awards as the best teacher of the faculty. Three years ago I did CELTA in Barcelona, which made a long-lasting impact on me for multiple reasons, primarily owing to the constant teaching practice, tutors' evaluation, continuous self-assessment and feedback from the buddies and students. Despite the fact that I had learned most of the theoretical material back at university, our instructors managed to present it from a new and hands-on perspective. As a result, not only did I improve my teaching and communication skills, but also got more confidence and reinforced the conviction that I truly love my job. Hence, willing to progress further, get inspired and challenged by tutors I have decided to enroll on the DELTA course. I am convinced this experience will be lifechanging for me, both personally and professionally.
