Steven Truscott Case

I agree witht he fact that Steven Truscott was wrongfully accused of the murder of Lynn Harper. My reasoning to believe this comes from evidence from the memory of others and what they have said. For example, Duggy Oats (11 at the time) stated that he had witnessed Steven and Lynn both cross the bridge together. If Steven and Lynn were both seen crossing the bridge then it would have been impossible for Steven to have murdered Lynn in Farmer Lawsons bush because they would have had to turn before the bridge in order to get into the bush.

Another reason I do not believe Steven Truscott is guilty if because of the fact that almost immediatly after the crime was said to have been comitted and it was said that he was acting completely normal, raising no belief for anything to have been wrong. Even if Steven would have managed to make it from the forest to school in the time that he did it would have left him extremely tired and out of breath; and his friends would have noticed and asked about it.

Another good explanation to Stevens innocence and the law system makign a mistake is the fact that they had no solid evidence to get a conviction. They infact had absolutely no medical or pharansic evidence proving Stevens guilt; the only evidence they had was hear-say and they barely had anything for that. They also had false evidence that was irrelevent to the murder; for example, Truscotts penis had marks on it that raised a large amount of suspicion. However, doctors later clarified that those marks could not have been caused my rape and were useless as evidence.

The person I believe to be guilty for this murder is Officer Kalichuk, a man with a weakness for alchohol and little girls who had raised a large amount of suspicion during this case. Having sold his car almost immediatly after the time of the crime, and it had been very similiar to the car Truscott had seen. Also, it was said to have been impossible...
