Research Proposal for the Final Strategic Plan
Guakia’s Catering is a company of young entrepreneurs who are committed with the future of Puerto Rico. The company was founded on March 7, 2013 by Eva M. Sanchez and Tomas Nieves Fontan in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. Guakia opened for business with the traditional concept of catering service. After a year, they realize that they need to diversify the catering services into a new concept. Although they have focused mainly on the quality and the taste of their dishes, the company wishes to gain market share by doing a partnership with young entrepreneurs from the event planning industry.
Based in a non-scientific research on the first quarter of 2014, the owners realized that they need to change their marketing approach to grow Guakia’s revenues. Fine food taste, presentation, and a one-stop solution can be the difference in the success of customers activity and therefore in company's success.
Mission
“The purpose of a mission statement is essentially to explain the underlying rationale for a company’s existence, while inquiring as to what a company’s function is in relation to how the company places itself within society” (Pearce & Robinson, 2013). The mission is crucial in that it expresses a company’s true identity and philosophy while establishing an image in which the general public will perceive. As such, it is important that the mission statement of Guakia’s Catering emphasize the aforementioned premises.
The mission of Guakia Catering is to provide a large assortment of high quality and valuable foods at the best possible prices with the assistance of a well tenured and obliging workforce in order to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers to make their special event experience as enjoyable as possible.
