Everyone isn’t blessed with a brand new car as their first. I surely wasn’t and that’s okay because “Sally” always got me from point A to point B in an efficient manner. This was a true statement until the day I dealt with my first major car problem, a blown out tire on the highway. One of the most unexpected and terrifying moments I have ever experienced as a car owner.
Just like any other normal week day I was driving home from school. As I was driving on 295 I started feeling this uncomfortable shaking movement in my car. I paid no attention to it because I figured my car was a little beat up so this was normal. That shaking I was feeling became a disturbing heavy thumping movement I could feel coming from my tires. In a panic I then merged over to the far right lane, and turn on my hazard lights. The worst part about this was that I was now entering onto the Buckman Bridge during RUSH HOUR! Once I parked in the emergency lane I felt a sense of relief because my car wasn’t in motion anymore. Then I looked to my right, and I was reminded by the cars passing me at the speed of light that I was now stranded. My heart began to beat at a rapid pace and I knew I needed to get out of that car. I grabbed my back pack and climbed over to the passengers side to exit my car.
As I stepped onto this huge cement bridge I immediately felt it shaking beneath my feet and cried out, “WHY ME GOD? WHY HERE? WHY NOW?” My stomach felt like it was at the bottom of my feet, and I was now feeling light-headed. So much for being a prepared driver I thought to myself because there was no spare tire in my trunk, and even if there was I couldn't do this on my own. This was official an emergency. Going with my first instinct I dialed 911. I was breathing heavenly and my fingers and toes were trembling. Then I heard a voice, “911 what's your emergen...” I cut the speaker off, “Hi!
