Commitment From Each Team Member
Establish process and structure, and work to smooth conflict and build good relationships between team members. Normally provide support.
Authority may be challenged. Members resist the constraints it imposes on individuality because of being part of a team.


The Norming Strategy is that Everyone Cannot Lead

Hierarchy is established. Team members come to respect the authority of the manager.
If new tasks may come up, the team may lapse back into typical storming stage behavior.


The Performing Strategy

Hard work leads directly to progress. As a manager, you are able to delegate much of the work and can concentrate on developing team members.
The hardest challenge to any manager is getting a group of individuals to function as a team and place his or her personal ambitions to the side.
The Adjourning Strategy


Wrapping up activities is the focus. Focus is on the team’s accomplishments
Breaking up a team can be stressful for all concerned. Depression over the loss of camaraderie and friendships gained during the work team’s life.
