Student politics means the participation and involvement of students in politics. Student politics, frankly speaking, has both merits and demerits according to the way it is directed. Previously student’s participation in politics was for a noble cause and purpose. But we feel terrified at the corrupted from of the present student politics. At present students participate in politics for their ill-motives and mean end, not for the amelioration of the country. It has merit in the sense that students’ talents contribute much to the politics for the development of the country as politics parties rule over the country. Students are the future leaders. It is also true that their participation certainly ensures their needs a lot. Any constructive and rightful demand of students can be fulfilled if they are involved in it. Student politics has demerits in the sense that students involve themselves in politics by ignoring their study and noble purposes. So the result is very lethal because the country remains a brainless nation. The students create terrorism and other illegal activities. So the normal atmosphere of education is hampered. The great roles of student politics in Bangladesh are very conspicuous. Students played the most important role in the Liberation War and so on. Their supreme sacrifices are remembered with great respect and will remain ever fresh in the history. The present conditions of their politics are very terrible and corrupted. Educational institutions and university halls have become crime zones and mini cantonments. Like other fields the atmosphere of educational institutions is greatly hampered for this. For all these reasons all conscious persons are worried about the situation. Students should change their notion. Teachers, guardians all should motivate them to keep themselves aloof from al ill-motives as they are the future of the country.
