My Student Survival Guide

Using Axia’s Educational Resources
Downloading files to my computer for my use is a very helpful resource and it’s easy to do. When I have these files downloaded to my computer it helps me study without having to look back at my syllabus each time I want to refer to it. When using the University Library I can look up anything on the topic and use it in my research, or just to compare information. There are many different data bases to use in the University Library. I plan on using the library for most of my research. If there is something that I can’t find there then I would search the web as a last resort to find my information. I also use the plagiarism checker to be sure that I am not in any way repeating anything that has already been written. There is also the center for mathematics. I have not used this yet but I do plan on it when it comes to math I need some refreshing. It has been a long time since I have taking any math classes or any classes at all. This resource will help a lot with my math skills.
Upholding Academic Honesty
I understand that upholding academic honesty means not using any ones work but your own. If you do use parts of someone’s work you have to cite where you got the information from. To uphold academic honesty I have submitted many of my papers to the plagiarism checker. I understand that if you are suspected of plagiarism you will receive a zero on the assignment and might even be suspended for University of Phoenix. I avoid plagiarism by reading my research articles and then closing what I am reading and writing my papers from memory of the facts of the subject. I find that by doing this I am more likely to put things into my own words and not somebody else’s.
Setting and Achieving Goals
I have set my long term and short term goals. One of my long term goals is to one day buy a house for me and my kids to have a better place to live with more room for the kids. I have...
