Our world and society has come a long way. We have learned to grow and accept change as time goes on. We have also learned to accept people for who they are; well, most of us have. There are still many communities in our society that take it upon themselves to shun others for being different. Homosexuals being the most exploited in our generation.(fragment) They are constantly put down by their peers, family members, or strangers who, in the name of religion and "God", tell them they are disgusting sinners. They are put through torment and ridicule for loving somebody of the same sex. Constantly degraded and told they can change and that, in fact, they should change. Disregarding the fact that they are just humans, people go on and on saying whatever they want without fearing the consequences (sentence structure is weird; makes it sound like people are being disregarded as humans...when you really mean, homosexuals are being disregarded) until, somebody reaches the breaking point. After consistently being insulted and told they are disgusting and deserve to die just because they love somebody different there comes a point when it becomes unbearable to handle.(do people really say they deserve to die? I thought they just said that they would burn in hell and that they need to be saved or whatnot) That is when teenagers turn to suicide.

Suicide, unfortunately, has become a commonly used escape for troubled teens. Suicide rates among homosexual teenagers are far larger than the suicide rate of heterosexual teens. Studies show that about one third of GLB teens have attempted suicide whereas only 13% of heterosexual teens have attempted suicide(Goldfried). They are caused so much psychological distress that in most cases, it is not the fact that they are homosexual, but the depression, hopelessness, substance abuse, social support, stress, and coping that leads them to suicidal tendencies(Goldfried).(this is kind of a weird sentence) The documentary, For the...
