Sunny California or Downhome Illinois
What do you think of when you hear of California? How about when you hear of Illinois? Well I have been to both states and think of beaches, sunshine, and hippies when I think of California, but when I think of Illinois I think of snow, corn fields, and big trucks. Both places are beautiful to live in, but I prefer Illinois to California. There are different types of activities, people, and environments in each state but which is better?
California is full of outdoor activities you can do such as surfing, clubbing, and going to old Sacramento where you can walk on old wooden sidewalks like in old west times. While in California you can never really walk anyplace like to a gas station or to a park because it is so far away you have to drive fifteen minutes just to go to a park! You see many different ethnic groups as you’re walking down the street, if you are brave enough to do so alone, because it is as if you’re in a huge melting pot of different races. When you go to the beaches it is beautiful as long as you don’t look at all the garbage floating into the ocean and what’s lying on the sand that you have to walk on; and be sure to watch your belongings because you never know who has sticky fingers that is walking by. You can also experience different foods such as, fresher seafood meals and better fried foods and see things you could never see in Illinois such as marijuana dispensaries. Yet Illinois has its own perks that I prefer like going to lakes, mudding, skeet shooting, hunting, and dirt track racing. I like being able to just go for a walk and know people as I pass them or walk to the gas station for a drink or for food. Plus when you go to the lake you can leave your things in the sand and not worry about someone stealing it plus the lake and shorelines are not covered in trash. And in Illinois you really don’t have as many different ethnic groups around here as you do in California, but you do see Hispanic...
