In the stimulus, it portrays a prison in the shape of a swastika. There are also guards patrolling the prison on the building as well. The swastika during World War II, had symbolized great evil and mass destruction. The Nazi’s of Germany had represented the Swastika. During World War II, The Nazi Army had killed millions of Jewish people. The stimulus creates the philosophical issue and makes us wonder, do we has individuals have Free Will? The stimulus also makes us wonder if determinism affects our actions as human beings and if we blame others for our misfortunes. Human beings are a member of any of the races of Homo sapiens. This includes either man, woman, or child. Three terms that can be related to this topic is Free Will, Hard Determinism, and Soft Determinism.
Free Will is having the freedom and opportunities to make certain decisions in life. Some decisions that people make can be extremely controversial and can lead to certain consequences. According to Thomas Reid’s theory, he believes that motivations and actions are in our control and that we are all responsible for our actions. Reid believes that as soon as we reach the age of ten, we should become more aware of our actions and become more conscious of the common sense beliefs. Reid also rejects the idea of determinism and advises strong liberty instead. Another philosopher who strongly believes in Free Will is Immanuel Kant. According to Kant’s theory, he believes that free will and freedom is determined, based on our decision making. Free Will is not influenced or determined by other people in society. Kant also feels that other people should not impact nor interfere with our decision making.

The negative impacts that Free Will can produced are violent acts. These violent acts can be referred to murder, rape, robbery, and burglary. In today’s society, individuals commit these horrific acts in order to obtain certain materials and to satisfy themselves. When...
