People think it is healthy to have a beautiful tan to their skin, but they are wrong. Tanning is a result from what happens from the sun’s ultra violet rays. There are to types of ultra violet rays, and they are ultra violet A and ultra violet B. These rays are invisible and ultra violet A is the worst out of the two. Too much sun without any protection can cause skin cancer, which is a type of cancer that is found on the skin. Skin cancer is the most common disease that is caused from too much tanning. Tanning will always be a problem with society because everyone is so obsessed with being tan, thinking that it makes their skin look good, but it is the inside of someone’s body that will be harmed from tanning. All types of tanning from the sun can cause many problems such as skin cancer, but it can be prevented.The sun is always out, but when tan’s from the summer start to fade people start going to indoor tanning beds. Indoor tanning is just as harmful as outdoor tanning, but with tanning beds you can control the amount of ultra violet rays that your body absorbs unlike tanning from the sun. In the article “Don‘t Get A Tan To Die For“ it is said “Sunbeds can be even more dangerous as they have mostly UVA rays which do the most damage” (Kathy Joyce). One of the most common results from tanning are a lot wrinkles at an early age and very dark complexion that is not healthy at all. Teenagers are infatuated with indoor tanning and many go tanning seven days a week all year, causes there skin to deteriorate and they do not even know the consequences of all there tanning. This exposure causes their skin to deteriorate to ultra violet rays and they do not even care about the consequences of all their tanning. The false claims of owners of indoor tanning beds also adds to the problem that a lot of people tan too much. These advertisements encourage people to “Tan year round without the harmful side effects often associated with natural sunlight” (Health Goods). So...
