How Technical Writing is Used in the Corporate World

Technology is growing very fast, and with time technical communication has become very important in the corporate environment. Technical writing is a crucial asset because in most companies the knowledge of using technology is very low. Usually they have to rely on people that are very well educated in the technology field in order for the company to run smoothly. The skill set they have allows the consumer to use, and understand the product without being an expert in technology. A technical writer has to create a document in which the audience has to be able to understand it. How they articulate and present the technical writing is determined by their audience.
Technical Writing is a method in which the authors give details to the reader (or listener) adapted to their needs. This type of writing describes an idea via a short and precise type of writing. Technical writing is used more and more in the corporate environment. An example of this type of writing could be a letter complaining about a printer rebate from a printer that has been recently purchased. In the letter, the writer must describe the proof of the claim and have a justification for the demand of such rebate. Another Example could be a letter for a product that is going to be launch. The letter needs to be written very clearly, the usage of good language is very important and the writer has to make sure the audience will take this letter and won’t have any problem reading it. This type of writing is an essential part of the corporate world. I don’t considered being more persuasive than your standard expository writing, since the writer creates the document to communicate with the outside world and he/she has to make sure that the audience is going to understand what is written.
