CheckPoint: Technological Tools When I first started this class, I was impressed by the materials and resources the classes had to offer. Indeed, many of them are very usual for us to use in our everyday busy lives. There were two resources I found interesting which were the audio appendixes and the digital story tutorials. The audio appendix is basic audio that you can download onto your computer or portable devices such as: cell phones, IPods, and you can listen to them later at your most convenience. The digital tutorials are like slide presentations with pictures and audio giving you a better idea of what the topic is about. Through my personal experience, reading has been more sufficient with me because with it, I have a better view and understanding. With audio, the words are jumping through your ears all at once and your mind tries to break it down for you to comprehend. With music it’s different, because you are more focused on the beat rather than concentrating on the words to remember. Therefore, I choose to use the reading appendix more than using the audio. As for the digital tutorials, I think they are great. They give not only audio but picture presentation of what they are discussing about. View is an important key in learning and understanding. It’s like when you watch a movie, you can’t just have audio without the picture to help you understand the story. Digital tutorials are a very big help to me and I will continue to use them at my best. Through my experience here, what impresses me is that this school thinks of new and creative ways to help online students with their learning experience here. By doing so, it will help allow students like me to pass our courses and earn our degrees.
