In the last ten years advancements in technology have grown in leaps and bounds. Society is so much further ahead from where we were ten years ago. As we develop tools to make our lives easier and our daily tasks faster, new inventions are popping up all over the horizon. One of the new and emerging technologies is the Blackberry Smartphone. We have come a long way from an eight inch by three inch, half pound piece of equipment that required a pencil-like antenna to communicate with the world. The Blackberry Smartphone offers the user instant access to email in addition to the basic functions of calling and texting.
In recent years, cell phones have been undergoing dramatic facelifts; becoming slimmer, sleeker and more compact for portability and overall ease of use. The people of today carry their cell phones everywhere. What once was a luxury has now become a necessity. Society has realized the need to have dial up contact with their loved ones in case of emergency. The Blackberry allows that, but also to stay up to date on all functions dealing with their business life as well.
Subsequently, the Blackberry Smartphone has the technology to give the user instant access to email accounts pertaining to work, school, or family affairs. In today’s world it is paramount that one be connected at all times due to competitive markets and institutional standards. The user can not only receive emails while out of the office, but also compose them on the fly.
As a result, I feel this technological advancement has had a mostly positive impact on society, including the above mentioned examples. It has enabled me to balance all aspects of my fast paced, well stretched, life.
