The company that I currently work for has been in business for 25 years now. They have overcome several obstacles in the years they have been in business. I can remember when I first started there I was told the history of the company. They started out with a couple of salesmen which in turn they only needed that many phones in the company. After a couple of years they went to a Voice over IP (VoIP) system.

The current telecommunication system that we are on is Voice over IP (VoIP). I think this by far is one of the best systems out there. Of course it is like any other system out there, it has its advantages and disadvantages. One of the main advantages includes the low cost. You can find VoIP cheaper than regular home phone in some places. Being able to make a call anywhere in the world with an internet connection is great. Where I work it is a must have as we deal with customers all over the world. Another advantage is that it is portable. You can take you phone and make and receive phone calls where ever there is a broadband connection. This is huge as well where I work. When an employee is out sick or cannot make it in on a work day, then if they have their work phone they can connect it to their home internet connection and take calls from home. This will keep customers from being ignored because one could not make it in work for some reason. We also have our phones at work set so that all voicemails go to our email inbox. With this an employee checking their email can listen to their voicemails through there inbox. This is great when an employee travels. With all the advantages being said there are a couple of disadvantages as well that goes along with the VoIP Phone...
