Terraces are leveled surfaces with vertical sides that rise on top of one another. An example provided includes a terrace in Infugao, Philippines which is used to cultivate rice through a method of soil conservation in order to control the runoff of irrigation water. The streams and rivers found in the area provide water to irrigate the rice paddies. The water is supplied throughout the entire season to prevent the terrace from drying and cracking and ultimately in ruin.
Terraces, Earth Retained, Water Retained, Platforms. Define and explain the category using an example presented by one your classmates (NOT YOUR OWN).
