The 2045 Initiative

The 2045 initiative is an idea that was created by an eccentric russian billionaire by the name of Dmitry Itskov back in 2011. This initiative to most would appear as something out of a science fiction movie. Dmitry's plan in a whole is to remove one’s consciousness from there brain and re-upload it into a robotic like “Avatar” in theory allowing someone to live forever. Although there are many skeptics Dmitry still believes wholeheartedly that this is the next stage of evolution for the human race, or neo humans. Although most would think that Dmitry is all about money and getting rich from this plan and being a god, he actually has a much more in depth reason behind his actions. “We need to show that we’re actually here to save lives,” he said. “To help the disabled, to cure diseases, to create technology that will allow us in the future to answer some existential questions. Like what is the brain, what is life, what is consciousness and, finally, what is the universe?” (NY Times : The Avatar Quest). This plan is not only created to live forever, its soul purpose is to evolve the species into its next form, cure sickness, create peace and ultimately change the world as we know it Although most would think this not possible for centuries let alone be in our lifetime Itskov has already created a time chart showing that by the year 2045 everything will change.
The time table created by Dmitry has been labeled “The 2045 Milestone chart” in which he lays out where our projected technological advances will lead us in the near future. The first milestone “Avatar A” takes place from the years 2015 to 2020 where Many believe we will have created fully working thought controlled robotic human copies. Impossible many would say.
