The Boston Celtics remain basketballs most storied franchise, with its seventeen world championships and twenty conference titles; they are arguably the most prestigious and most recognizable organizations in sports. With their current roster, personnel, and overall winning reputation, the Celtics are poised to continue their winning way for many years to come.

To the surprise of very little fans worldwide last season, the Boston Celtics were crowned NBA champions for the first time since the 1985-1986 season. With the acquisition of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett from the Seattle Supersonics and Minnesota Timberwolves respectively, team captain and seven-time All-star Paul Pierce finally had not only one, but two superstar teammates by his side. Not only did the Celtics bring in two world-class athletes who were proven winners, all-stars and leaders. But they brought in high-character players with unselfish attitudes to surround the “Big Three”, just the kind of attitudes necessary to help capture their NBA record seventeenth championship. With Garnett, Allen and Pierce otherwise known as the “Boston Three Party” were ready to summit their place in history as three of the best to have ever played the game. Although they had all of the individual accomplishments, anyone could ever dream of, they did not have a NBA title. In order for the “Big Three” to accomplish this goal, they had to win and lose as a team. A fitting end to the Celtics magical story was their long-time rival the Los Angeles Lakers led by the NBA Most Valuable Player Kobe Bryant refused to go away quietly, however; they would eventually lose to eventual champ Celtics four games to two. With the same team intact from last year’s championship squad, with the exception of James Posey, the Celtics look ready to repeat as NBA champions and continue adding to their dynasty.
