HERO
The concept of a hero can be defined in many ways. Many individuals believe to call someone a hero is to give them tremendous power. Certainly that power may be used for good, but it may also be used to destroy individuals. Some of society’s concept of a hero goes back to their childhood figure that they looked up to. The hero could be there mom, dad, a dog or maybe even the guy on the television who wore tights and a cape and spent his whole day making the world a better place. Society’s concept of a hero is not going to change; many say Sylvester Stallone was a hero, because of his heroic acts in his movies. With the story Beowulf it is really depending upon the person to decide whose the hero, because some could feel the men who guarded the area were heroic and some may even say the mother was a hero.
My definition of a hero is an individual who does not care about the fame or money; they just want to see someone else succeed in life. My childhood hero is my mother and father. Not only did they make me the person I am but took there time and help me reach different points in my life. Many concepts are still wrapped around the Superman and Batman character and maybe even the Underdog hero. It actually depends upon how and what an individual were raised around as a child. Many see the police, fire department, and the soldiers of the United States as heroes because of the heroic acts they do each and everyday for out country.
With Sylvester Stallone much of America saw him as a hero because of the heroic acts he did within his movie scenes. From the cop trying to save the family from harms way to the guy running over the city of New York fighting gang members. Stallion’s character as Rocky, a boxer who fought his heart out against ruthless boxers was the rise of Stallion’s heroic acts.
