The Creation of Dichotomy Between Art and Science

Western thought has created a dichotomy between art and science, always seen as two opposing things. The sensual and the rational are separated, art being the former and science the latter. Western artists consequently have not been able to unite the rational and the irrational in an artwork. It would seem that doing this would be a complete contradiction in terms. Awareness of climate change within society is likeier to be reached through the opportunity to see nature and ecology with a new appreciation. Environmental art is more visceral and experiential by allowing people to become involved in their own environment. Consequently, his artworks are based heavily on the interaction of the public as a functional object for them to use and enjoy. Similarly, the Dadaists brought functional objects into the gallery and environmental artists are creating...
