In the Crucible John Proctor has changed a lot and his whole character changes because he fight for the girls to be accused of making false accusations and he finally gives in and turns against the towns people. The girls being brought to justice motivates John and makes him fight for his wife and everybody else in the town. John Proctor does not deserve his punishment in the Crucible. John Proctor makes the right choices in fighting for is town.
John Proctor is very motivated to save his town and stop those crazy girls from spreading and becoming even larger to the point where they take over everything. The girls in the story work as a group of little minions to Abigail Williams and whatever she does and whoever she hates so do those girls. “I danced for the Devil; I saw him, I wrote in his book.” Abigail said, she should have been convicted of helping the devil and should have been hanged immediately. Since John Proctor rejected her she said that his wife’s soul stabbed her knowing Elizabeth Proctor would be hanged and John would be free to have Abigail. Unfortunate for Abigail John was hanged and she could no longer be with him.
In the Crucible John Proctor does not deserve his punishment and he made the right choice by not putting his name on the wall of the church for everybody to see. I would do the same as John Proctor if I were in his shoes because I would not want my children and grandchildren to be looked down upon their whole lives and have to deal with that because I was trying to support everybody but caved in because of pressure. All John is trying to do in the Crucible is save his friends and family and show that all of those girls were actually the witches. He sadly failed but it is good to know that after that the girls were once over run by the common people.
