Death Penalty

The death penalty is one of the most controversial debates these days. There are people that make strong cases as to whether the death penalty should be allowed for such heinous crimes. There are also people that continually argue that the death penalty should not be allowed for any crimes because it is inhumane. This issue sparks numerous debates all the time and has debates on whether it should be allowed all the time. Some of the arguments that people who are in favor of the death penalty are very convincing. One of the arguments is that if you strictly enforce the death penalty for such severe crimes then that will make people think twice about committing a crime where they could be faced with the death penalty and thus would make the major crime rate go down because of such strict enforcements. Also a simple example is the person who was killed will never commit a murder again because of the fact they are deceased. Also the people who are for the death penalty argue that people have an intense fear of the death penalty shown in a study in recent years, which might deter people from committing a serious crime. A point that can be said I believe for the people who are for the death penalty are that even if the death penalty were too make just one person shy away from committing a murder or any type of serious crime would be worth it just because maybe it is a another human life saved. When a group of random strangers were asked if they like the death penalty a majority of them said that they were for it because they feel safer knowing that some of the murderers have been taken of the street and will never be back on the streets again because they are deceased. I think that has too be a major factor in decision making that is done for whether the death penalty should be enforced or not.
