Abstract
Anyone who has ever attended college knows of the difficulty and stress that can develop throughout the education process: simply attending class, meeting daily assignments, and ,of course, final projects. To overcome and survive the academic experience, one should create a student survival guide. A guidebook serves as a roadmap that will help a student reach the desired outcome of achieving academic success. This paper will review plans designed to help achieve success in several areas throughout the academic years to come.
Educational Resources
Educational resources are the most important tools used in academics. These resources help to complete class assignments, and can be used as tutorials. While there are many valuable educational resources available at Axia, from my own personal experience, I have found Axia’s Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) to be the most beneficial when writing essays and refreshing on the proper use of grammar. Within the CWE there is a program that I use quite often called WritePoint. Possessing WritePoint enables me to complete documents with minimal errors and will help me continue my path to academic success.
Upholding Academic Honesty
Upholding academic honesty is vital to all students. Any form of academic misconduct may potentially result in the expulsion of a student, this means no cheating!Tto uphold my honesty,I make sure to cite all material I have taken from another source and used in my writings.
Setting and Achieving Goals
Setting goals and achieving them is useful not only in academics, but in life too. It is a way of organizing a plan that can be completed in a certain length of time, whether one day or one year. When setting goals, start with the long-term and work down to the short-term. One should ask, where do I see myself in the next several years? What do I want to do after college? What do I...
